Maruti has kicked off the Auto Expo in style by showcasing the Concept Future S SUV! Positioned below Maruti’s own Vitara Brezza, the new Maruti SUV creates an all new segment!
With the Concept Future S SUV, Maruti has big plans for the compact SUV segment in India! Coming below Maruti’s own Vitara Brezza, the new Maruti compact SUV will be more accessible for a wider price point without sacrificing on any of the SUV characteristics.
Designed in-house by Maruti, the Concept Future S has a bold and aggressive design achieved through a combination of sculpted muscular elements, as well as a clever use of accent colours, making it perfect for an urban compact SUV! The unique A-pillar design finished in white, with a wide windshield offers a more greater field of view from the driver’s seat. Maruti might have solved the issue of thick A-pillars blocking vision while driving with such a design.
“Compact is the natural choice of India’s car customers. Compact needs a fresh design language, one that is bold, confident and dynamic. Our designers have created this brand new design, aggressive on the outside, and bld and inviting interiors. Nothing like this has ever been attempted before on a vehicle this size . Concept Future S will define the next generation of design for compact vehicles in India.” – Mr Kenichi Ayukawa, MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki
Other staples of SUV design like side skid plates, higher ground clearance along with the stylish alloys all add to the character of the Concept Future S SUV! Maruti might also hide the rear door handles onto the C-pillars, as seen first on the Chevrolet Beat, to lend a coupe like two-door design for the Concept Future S SUV.
The Concept Future S shown here has an orange exterior paint with white and silver accents, which should offer more customization options for the customer, as seen on the Vitara Brezza. Interiors also see a continuation of the sporty design seen on the outside with body coloured (orange in this case) contrast accents bordering the dashboard as well as the door upholstery, which should carry over to the final form of the Concept Future S SUV. Centre console gets a pseudo carbon fibre-style weave as well!
Maruti’s new compact SUV looks to have all it takes to be a winner! Launch will be in 2019.
Too lazy to type anything, so re quoting from the best F1 driver in the world:
“On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.”
