Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI Launch expected to happen in January 2018; Expected Price – Rs 1.15 Lakh, No changes in specifications and features but mileage could improve significantly

Bajaj Auto Ltd, one of the most popular motorcycle manufacturers in India, recently launched the ABS version of its NS200 streetfighter motorcycle. Now, a new report on Carblogindia claims that the company plans to launch the fuel injection version of this streetfighter in coming months. The new Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI (fuel injection) will likely have an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.15 lakh.  The will make it a full Rs 7,000 costlier than the recently launched ABS  version and almost Rs 20,000 costlier than the standard variant. Other than the introdution of the fuel injection system, there won’t be any other change in the bike. This means that the specifications and features will remain the same. However, the FI unit will ensure that the mileage witnesses a marginal increase. The launch of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI should happen in January next year.

The Pulsar NS200 was earlier known as the 200 NS, when it was launched many years ago in 2012. Subsequently, Bajaj felt it appropriate to discontinue the model to make room for the Pulsar AS200. The AS200 was discontinued and the 200 NS came back to life as the NS200 in 2017. With the launch of the ABS model, the NS200 becomes the cheapest Pulsar model to offer this important safety tech.

Price (expected) Rs 1.15 lakh

The Fuel injection variant of the NS 200 will likely have an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.15 lakh in New Delhi. This will make the motorcycle only Rs 5,000 cheaper than the RS 200. At the same time, it will be a full Rs 20,000 costlier than the standard variant and Rs 7,000 costlier than the ABS model. While the price difference of Rs 20,000 makes the standard model looks really well priced, let’s not forget that both fuel injection and ABS have their own advantages and should not be ignored.

The only change in the specs table will be the introduction of the fuel injection. Rest, at least on paper, there won’t be any change in the specifications of the Pulsar NS 200. Powering this motorcycle is a 199.5 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DTSi engine that offers a peak power of 23.5 PS at 9500 rpm along with a maximum torque of 18.3 Nm at 8000 rpm. This is a fairly modern engine that comes paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Suspension components comprise of twin front forks and a gas-filled Nitrox monoshock at the rear. The bike comes with stylish 17-inch alloy wheels that wear 100- and 130-section tires at front and rear respectively. The ABS unit for the NS 200 is a single channel module that comes from the RS200.

Mileage 55 KMPL

While the specifications will be the same, the mileage will be definitely higher. This will be due to the introduction of fuel injection. We feel that the bike will be able to deliver as much as 55 kmpl. This will also mean that the new bike will become the most fuel efficient motorcycle in its class. Also, other than having a higher mileage, the bike will also have higher refinement. 

Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI Top Speed

True Top Speed 135 KMPH

The NS200 FI won’t get any changes to its specifications. Hence, even its top speed is the same. The bike can clock a true top speed of 135 kmph. On the speedo, one can easily see a figure of as much as 15o kmph. But various GPS tests have shown that this bike has a top speed of 135 kmph. This is a very good number for a bike with this much power and in this price segment.

0-100 kmph 9.65 seconds

As the specifications remain the same, even the 0 to 100 kmph time is the same. Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI can go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 9.65 seconds, which makes it a very quick bike for its price. 

Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI Design

The upcoming FI model of the very attractive Pulsar NS 200 will have exactly the same design as the variant already on sale. The only difference will be the inclusion of fuel injection stickers. The 2017 Pulsar looks a lot like the Pulsar 200 NS that first came way back in 2012. However, it came with a few minute changes when it was launched again 2017 as the NS 200. In the latest avatar, this motorcycle comes across as fairly more stylish, which is due to the new dual-tone paint schemes and very stylish graphics. The NS200 can grab eyeballs with its very muscular design and a beefy appearance. The NS 200 looks a lot like the very famous Honda CB1000R streetfighter motorcycle, which is not at all bad thing considering that the NS200 costs a lot lesser and yet, offers a similar visual appeal. In short the NS200 looks very modern and very stylish.

Many styling bits like the engine cowl, attractive alloy wheels, racebike-inspired tail cutter, dual LED taillamps, dual-tone colour options and stylish graphics do their part in making this bike all the more sporty.  The new 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI, much like its current non-FI sibling, wil turn many heads.
