BMW India to sell pre owned BMW cars and finance BMW cars shortly
Owning a new BMW might be a dream for many, a dream that will most probably remain just that due to the high, almost exorbitant cost of initial ownership of a spanking new BMW. BMW India is doing it’s bit for you and me to be able to afford a BMW, if not a new one, a pre-owned BMW at least, nevertheless a BMW.
Sometime ago, in a telling sign of it’s firm commitment to reduce ownership costs and make it’s cars more attractive to own, BMW tied up with Bajaj Allianz for a unique insurance policy that was a comprehensive cover against accidental/emergency service costs.
Now, BMW India is planning to sell pre-owned cars at it’s dealerships. Dubbed as the BMW Premium Selection, BMW India will sell pre-owned cars that will be exhaustively refurbished and will carry a warranty with a comprehensive spares and service backup. This new service will roll out in the end of 2010. This will obviously see a lot more prospective owners of BMW finally being able to realize their dream of owning a BMW, albeit at a much cheaper cost, but most importantly with the peace of mind only a company certified and supported pre-owned car can give.
Incidentally, BMW India has applied for a NBFC license, which if granted by the Indian Government will enable BMW to finance it’s cars, both new and pre-owned by itself. This move will also enable BMW India establish a toehold in the rapidly growing car finance business. The BMW Car Finance venture might become a reality as early as in the next three months.
