BMW pips Mercedes to emerge on top in March 2011 Sales Charts while Audi is still a distant third!
BMW has continued it’s dominance of the Indian luxury car market by turning out yet another strong performance in March, 2011, where the car firm managed a whopping 1027 customer car deliveries. In contrast to BMW India’s March 2011 numbers, Mercedes Benz India managed to put 833 units on Indian streets in March 2011.
Both the German car makers have registered massive year-on-year gains in both the monthly as well as quarterly sales figures. In the first quarter of 2011, BMW India once again has pipped Mercedes Benz India to sell 2147 cars while Mercedes Benz has managed to come very close to BMW with 2135 units.
So, the high end luxury car market definitely seems to be growing by leaps and bounds. Audi India is still a distant third with 681 units sold in March 2011 and the first quarterly sales figures of 1611. Any which ways, the luxury car makers in India definitely seem to be having ball despite cars getting pricier with the CKD definitional change.
