2011 Maruti Suzuki Kizashi

Maruti Suzuki launched the much awaited Kizashi sedan in the country. The launch of the car took place in Delhi in the presence of Shinzo Nakanishi, MD and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India.

The Kizashi in India will be powered by a 2.4 litre petrol engine (imported from Suzuki, Japan) and will be available as a manual or automatic. The base model with a six-speed manual box is priced at Rs. 16.5 Lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs. 17.5 Lakh for the six-speed automatic. Bookings for the car have already commenced and deliveries will begin from March.

On the occasion of the launch Mr. Nakanishi said, “The Kizashi is a major step forwardfor Maruti Suzuki. With the launch of this luxurious sporty sedan, the company is able to offer an international car to top-end customers in India,”

    The quoted price is too much for Kizashi. For Maruti Suzuki it will be another Grand Vitara story. Indians really need budget cars at this moment. Toyota’s Etios is a very clever move by Toyota to engage the Indian buyer in a very large scale. Maruti should learn from Toyota.

    I guess Maruti has done whats it does always launched a good car and overpriced it. I feel the car should have been priced at least 2 Lacs less. No doubt there would be buyers seeing the network and after sales service but the number game and that threating position or the edge they could have come out with the Kizashi just got lost with these prices.
