GM has got plans to introduce an oil burning Beat for sure. The test mule of the Beat diesel was caught testing by our friends over at Motoroids.

From what our friend has observed, the Beat had a typical diesel clatter. The test cars had the same body as the petrol variant of the Beat.

About the actual powerplant, the car has a 900cc, 3 cylinder diesel derived from FIAT’s 1.3 Multijet. The engines will be manufactured at GM’s Chakan plant near Pune. Bookings for the diesel variant of the Beat are expected to start early next year and will come at a Rs.30,000 premium over the petrol version.
