The muscle car wars began decades back in a small country called the United States of America and since then the automobile industry has never been the same again. Two warriors stood out among the warring clans, one being the Chevrolet Camaro and the other being the Ford Mustang. Their duel went on for years and both kept gearing themselves up with new armour and weapons (wrong choices at times).

The final years of the first decade of the 21st century saw the war returning to the aggression, glory and spirit of the past. The redesigned Mustang, Camaro and Challenger with styling inspiration from their heydays struck a chord with enthusiasts. The Camaro got itself the promotional edge of Michael Bay’s robot epic actioner – Transformers.

Along with the Autobot connection, the engine options and the styling got the buyers interested. It beat the Mustang back-to-back on the sales chart and now GM has rolled out the 100,000th copy of the new Camaro. The landmark SS model made its way out of the Oshawa assembly line and looked stunning in an inferno orange shade.

The Camaro has had a pretty safe and sound journey till now. But with the 2011 Ford Mustang (with its redesign and list of engine options) ready to race past the Camaro, the celebrations may not last for long.
