Chevrolet To Recall 40,000 Corvettes Over Steering Column Issues

The American giant, Chevrolet, has issued a recall of their most successful Corvette Sports Car over a steering column issue. The cars affected by the recall are the ones which were manufactured in the year 2005-2006.

According to the government agency NHTSA, the recall applies to the cars with tilt and telescoping steering wheels. Over time, the signals traveling through the steering wheel could become corrupted, resulting in an error message. The malfunction could also cause one side of the vehicle’s brakes to actuate and pull the car to the left or the right, thereby causing an accident.

A total of 40,028 Corvettes are involved in the recall, and GM says that it will replace the faulty parts free of charge. Owners are advised to contact their nearest dealers or the company officials for further information.
