The Fiat 500 has come a long way since it was conceived as the peoples car for the Italian masses. Since then, the car has put on a bit of fat here and there. Subsequently, the engine has got bigger and peppier. The current 500 can be regarded as one of the cutest car you can buy. The German peoples car on the other hand seems to loose its charm compared to the little Fiat. At the 2011 Geneva Auto show, Italian coachbuilder and styling house Zagato showcased their version of the 500 and boy-o-boy, hasn’t the cute just got cuter!

The car was developed in conjunction with Fiat’s in-house design studio and is based on the standard 500 platform. Zagato has added the swooping roof-line that transforms the appeal of the 500 completely. It features a ‘double bubble’ roof, a traditional Zagato design motif, plus 17in alloy wheels. The coupe is powered by a new version of Fiat’s turbocharged, two-cylinder TwinAir motor with 103 bhp and 114lb ft. Before you get too excited and inquire about its price, let me tell you, the 500 Coupe Zagato won’t be produced. However, Fiat is considering a 2+2 version of the 500.
