First Time: Exclusive Internet advertising campaign To be launched by Chevrolet
No more copy paste……..
The success of a business company depends on how it presents itself to the public. They insist the medium called newspapers, TV, radio, banner, hoardings etc. But these things are past now. Because people are going digital with the internet. As you probably know the advertising needs lots of money and it’s a difficult job. It’s the first time that an automaker in India will launch an advertising campaign exclusively for the online medium. The Chevrolet brand in India is all set to launch an ad campaign starting with it’s Chevrolet Cruze. Six more such campaigns will follow the suit. The first one for Cruze is slated to be launched this month-end.
According to the company, most of its customers buying a GM vehicle already have the crucial details of the products from the websites. The company wants to exploit the space further as the online medium is the most cost-efficient advertising option compared to print and television. GM India had previously launched internet advertising for its premium product range such as the Captiva and Optra Magnum.
On an average, promotion through the internet constitutes less than five percent of the total budget of a company on advertising. The Cruze was launched few months after General Motors was declared bankrupt in the US. As they say “We could not afford to pay consultants, so we went out to the customers ourselves to find out what their concerns were.” The two main points for the online advertising are :
- To launch a campaign to tell people that GM is in India for the long haul
- To launch new products.
And this helped the Chevy brand in India to boost the sales of the Cruze even with it’s manufacturing company bankrupted. As for the Spark and the Beat, this seems quite useful as these cars are entry level and attract younger generations as they are the main stream users of the internet in India.
