We have said this time and again and now I would like to reiterate that, the year 2011 is going to see a lot activity as far as new launches are concerned. Ford will bring the new Fiesta hatch and now, Autocar India is reporting about a brand new Fiesta sedan that will replace the current one.

A heavily disguised mule was spotted in Chennai recently. The car is based on the Mazda 2 and employs Ford’s global kinetic design theme. The dimensions of the new car will be similar to the that of the current Fiesta. With the new styling package, the Fiesta sedan certainly looks the part.

The next-gen Fiesta will get 1.6 litre petrol engine producing 118 bhp. A 1.6 litre diesel with 90bhp of max power will also go under the hood. The current 1.4 litre diesel motor has been upped to 68bhp and 20.7 kgm of torque. A dual-clutch automatic gearbox is also rumoured.

The next-gen Fiesta sedan is expected to hit Indian roads in mid Jan 2011 with prices starting from Rs 6.80 lakh with the top of the line version sporting a price tag of Rs. 7.70 lakh.
