Ford relaunches its ‘Ford Assured’ used car business in India

Ford India has relaunched its used car business arm, ‘Ford Assured’ in the country. The company had earlier ventured into the used car business in India but for some reason had lost interest. Now though, they are back and this time with a booming used car sector, Ford India hopes to cash-in on the opportunity. Many car brands in India are now entering this business.

“The demand for used cars has grown in India following the rising aspirations of the rapidly growing middle income customer group. Ford Assured allows us to offer our world class services to those who aspire to upgrade their vehicles,” Ford India Marketing Sales and Service , Executive Director Nigel Wark said after visiting the first Ford Assured facility at Delhi today.

‘Ford Assured’ would be present at Ford showrooms in Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Pune and Kochi. The multi-brand used car showrooms will recondition old cars and offer a comprehensive 1 year warranty or upto 20,000km which none of the current players offer. Secondly, Ford Assured would also tie-up with banks to provide easy finance options on the spot for customers. Ford Assured aims to ensure customer safety and and satisfaction.

The used car arm of Ford India could have an effect on the sales of their products in a positive way as customers coming in for an upgrade would be able to exchange their old car for a brand new Ford. Additionally, customers will have the option to avail of Ford India’s premium 24-hour Roadside Assistance Service (RSA) for all Ford cars sold under the program by purchasing RSA packs.
