Everything nowadays from diapers to herbs for masculine enhancement comes from China.
So, obviously thanks to all this their economy is booming and this will have effects in the automotive industry as well. Yes, Volvo will be Geely soon. So, now they have decided to go after the English way of life and ruffle the monarchy a little.

Geely are all set to dragonise the maker of the iconic London cabs, Manganese bronze holdings and shift production from Coventry to China. They have come up with a version of the cab which will be unveiled at the Beijing motor show this year. It will be called the Geely Englon TXN (sounds Chinese already, eh?) or the Shanghai Englon for domestic use, I suppose.
While full details of the Englon TXN will be revealed at the Beijing motor show which starts on 23 April, Geely have been kind enough to provide a few shots of the Englon touring London

The London black cab has been an identity of London since 1948, when the first car rolled out of the plant. It’s identity is universal and the company making and selling the cars was then called LTI – London Taxis International. The predecessors are the TX4, the TXII, the TXI and the Fairway and FX series. The TX4 derived its design from the Austin FX4.

Like every city in the world having its identity thanks to the cabbies as well, will the Englon TXN retain the identity of its western cousin or will it just be like just another ’Made in China’ product?
