Geneva Motor Show 2010: Koenigsegg Agera
2011 Koenigsegg Agera Supercar
There’s nothing better than seeing a fresh supercar emerge from under the covers. Such was the case with the recently revealed Porsche 918 Spyder. The most recent Satan to roll from Greenpeace hell is a Swede. Meet the Koenigsegg Agera hypercar.
To commemorate 15 years of scripting the most well known Scandinavian supercars, Koenigsegg have produced a…well…angrier incarnation of the outgoing CCX.
Christened Agera, meaning ‘to act’, in Swedish, this car can produce a mind-numbing 898 bhp from a 4.7 litre V8 motor. The job of transferring 811 torques to the tarmac is done by specially built Michelins. All this go gets the Agera from 0- to 100 kph in 3.1 seconds, to 200 kph in under nine seconds and hitting the ceiling at about 404 kph. Breathe.
But the Agera’s party piece is not how fast it goes, but how much it weighs. The entire carbon fibre chassis weighs in at a mere 72 kgs. Most human adults weigh more. A size zero hypercar, this.

The Agera gets adjustable suspension, a removable hard-top and bodywork rendered entirely in carbon fibre and Kevlar. Thanks to its flat underbody and many clever wings, it produces over 300kg of downforce at 250 kph.
So how much is it going to set you back by? Well, Koenigsegg plans to sell 20 of these babies and frankly, we don’t think a big sticker price is a hindrance. What are you waiting for?
