Here comes a new Hypercar! Watch out Ferrari,Bugatti, Pagani, Koenigsegg!!

Apollo is set to launch a 2 million dollar hypercar that is set to rival the best from Ferrari, Pagani, Koenigsegg and Bugatti. Called IE or Intensa Emozione, it will rekindle driving the way it’s meant to be!

Apollo wowed the world with the Arrow at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show and now they will launch a hard-core road going race car named IE or ‘Intensa Emozione’. Intense Emotions when translated to English from Italian, IE should reconnect drivers with the car with no electronic barriers between them. It’s just man and machine!

For those not familiar with the brand, here is a history lesson. Before being rebranded as Apollo, the company was known as Gumpert, started out by Roland Gumpert, who was the head of Audi Sport which won four World Rally Championship titles. So he knows a thing or two about making fast cars that don’t shy away from corners as well.

Sadly that was it! When the flagship Gumpert Apollo was launched, it took the breath away, but out of shock and not awe as the supercar was just ugly to look at. It was fast though and lapped the Nurburgring in 2009 with a lap time of 7:11.57. So all those cuts and creases and flaps were all for pure down force making this a potent track tool.

In 2013, the company went bankrupt and with the help of new owners was renamed Apollo Automobili. They didn’t make the same mistake design wise with the Gumpert and the new Apollo Arrow showcased at Geneva was just sharp and sexy. The IE is said to take it to the next level, which will be mental suiting its 2 million sticker price.

The promo video showed a roof mounted ignition starter and the unique exhaust setup. The Arrow had a 4.0-litre twin-turbo Audi V8 making 986bhp and 1,000Nm of torque. Apollo should most likely use the same engine for the IE, maybe turned up a bit more. There have been rumours that the hypercar will use a Ferrari V12, but that will most likely be a wet dream!

With outrageous cars like the Aston Martin Valkyrie & Vulcan, the McLaren P1 GTR and Mercedes AMG Project One, the Apollo IE might have its hands full. But with a limited run of ten units and a back to basics driving experience, the Apollo IE might be a unique hypercar in this segment, but not for the faint hearted! We needn’t wait more for the Apollo IE to break cover as the car will be showcased on the coming 24th October, 2017.
