Honda City Facelift Teased in Pictures Ahead of Thailand Launch

Japanese automotive major, Honda Motor Company is readying the refreshed version of one of its most popular global sedans, the Honda City.

The updated 2017 avatar of the fourth generation of the car is almost all set to be introduced and it will be launched in the Thailand market on January 12 in the new year. As a result, Honda has released some teaser shots of the car, to build the excitement ahead of the highly anticipated launch of the car. The car is expected to be introduced in India sometime early next year.

The teaser pictures show that the refreshed version of the car will get a tweaked front end, which would now come with a different grille as compared to the current model doing duty on the roads. Apart from this, the headlamp cluster also seems to be an LED unit, with integrated LED DRLs. The front end also would see a revised bumper with new fog lamp enclosures.

The car also seems to get completely redesigned alloy wheels, which now will supposedly sport diamond cut finishing. At the rear as well, the tail lamp cluster sees some tweaks and would again supposedly come sporting an LED setup.

The updated Honda City is also expected to receive minor tweaks on the interiors of the car, with reported additions of infotainment system, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well. The car would continue to be powered by the same line-up of drive-trains, with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor doing duties of churning out power in the car.

The transmission on offer will supposedly also continue to remain the same just like the current version of the car, with the option of either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed CVT transmission in the petrol version, or a 6-speed manual transmission option in the diesel powered trims of the car.
