Hyundai i10 Achieves the Best in Class Mileage: Largest Selling Compact Car

This year is being great for all the automakers, and this month is special for Hyundai. i10, one of the best offering from the Korean giant, has now become the largest selling compact car over 1 liter capacity, outselling Maruti Suzuki Wagon R.

The BS IV compliant car powered by a 1.2 litre Kappa engine has achieved a mileage of 19.81 km per litre of petrol under test conditions certified by ARAI, the best mileage in this segment.

So, if you are planning to buy a compact car go for i10. High fuel efficiency coupled with BS IV engine makes it low carbon emitting environment friendly comfortable car. In the financial year 2009-10, the Korean major sold as many as 149,242 units of the i10 in the Indian market during 2009-10, which makes it the top selling car in the over 1 litre capacity segment. Earlier this spot was dominated by Japanese rival Maruti Suzuki Wagon R. It has been pushed to the second spot with sales figure of 144,898 units during the fiscal.

i10 has been in great demand in India and abroad since its launch and Hyundai has been the largest exporter of the country. But Maruti Suzuki is not sitting back with is No. 1 spot being taken by Hyundai. With the new K series engine made of aluminium and an all new gearbox for Wagon R, MSIL is all prepared to regain its No. 1 spot in Indian market.
