Hyundai Motor India clocks highest ever Domestic sales

Hyundai Motor India, country’s second largest auto manufacturer recorded a 14.2% growth in the month of September, 2010 over the same month last year.

HMIL’s total sales for September, 2010 stood at 51,441 units as against 53,802 units in September, 2009 registering a decline of 4.4%. The domestic sales accounted for 31,751 units as against 27,803 units in September, 2009 while the exports dipped by 24.3% from 25,999 units in September, 2009 to 19,690 units in September, 2010.

Hyundai clocks highest ever Domestic sales - registers 14.2 % domestic growth

New Delhi, October 1, 2010: Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country’s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter continued to be on a growth trajectory with the domestic sales growing by 14.2% over the same month last year.

The segment-wise cumulative sales for the month of September, 2010 are as follows: A2 segment (Santro, i10, i20) 46,673 units; A3 Segment (Accent & Verna) 4,752 units; A5 segment (Sonata Transform) 16 units.

HMIL’s total sales for September, 2010 stood at 51,441 units as against 53,802 units in September, 2009 registering a decline of 4.4%. The domestic sales accounted for 31,751 units as against 27,803 units in September, 2009 while the exports dipped by 24.3% from 25,999 units in September, 2009 to 19,690 units in September, 2010.

Commenting on HMIL’s sales performance Arvind Saxena, Director – Marketing and Sales, HMIL said, “It is heartening to see the market on a growth trajectory and this has reflected in our sales as we achieved the highest ever domestic sales since inception in 1998. Hopefully the festive season will further consolidate the growth. The launch of the new ‘next gen’ i10 should further strengthen our position in the compact car segment as it has been received very well by the market”
