Official: Santa Fe to be launched before diwali

We have been following the Santa Fe story unfold since its very beginning and bringing you all the latest news of this much anticipated SUV from the Korean car maker. Now we have the official word from the Hyundai company that the SUV will be launched in October-November 2010 before Diwali. The company is aiming at the festive rush and cashing in on the fact that Toyota has stopped Fortuner’s booking till next year.

“We will launch Sante Fe in October-November, ahead of the festive season. If volumes pick up, then we will consider assembling the vehicle here,” said Arvind Saxena, director, (marketing & sales), Hyundai Motor India.

The seven seater SUV will be a CBU and will be powered by a 2.2 lt Diesel engine . The car is expected to be priced around 22 lakh rupees range which is very much in the Fortuner territory.
