The new Hyundai Verna in hatchback ‘avataar’ was caught by an Italian Auto magazine recently in China. The car is based on the 2011 Verna sedan.

Apart from a minor changes to the grille and front bumper the car resembles the Verna sedan. Overall, the car has got good proportions looks handsome. The dimensions of the car are 4.08 mtr x 1.70 mtr x 1.46 mts while the wheelbase is the same as the sedan at 2.57 mtr.

Engines are likely to be the 1.4 liter petrol & 1.6 liter petrol with outputs 107 BHP & 122 BHP respectively. It would be available in both manual & Automatic transmissions.

The car is expected to go on sale in China next month. In India, the new Verna hatch is expected to replace the Getz. Where Hyundai places this car in the market is not yet clear though, since the Hyundai i20 is doing pretty well.

The 1st impression I got after suddenly lookin at its pic is that this car is a new version of Toyota innova. :-|
Oh yeah, I do think hundai should be more innovative in their future designs.
