Korean carmaker’s Indian arm, Hyundai India might be in the process of working on the updated version of its compact sedan in the market, the Hyundai Xcent.
The refreshed version of the car might be brought in to the market by March 2017 and the car would again be based on the facelift version of its hatchback sibling, the Hyundai Grand i10.
The upcoming updated version of the Grand i10 has already been spotted a couple of times ant the Xcent, having been based on the hatchback, would see its design elements taking cues from the Grand i10 facelift, which would launch by next year in the country.
The camouflaged test mules of the Grand i10 have been spotted doing rounds in the country at multiple occasions, hinting to a possible introduction anytime soon. While facelifts do generally get minimal changes in parts such as bumpers, headlamps, tail-lamps and a little bit on the insides, similar changes are expected to come with the Hyundai Grand i10 facelift as well. Similar updates could be seen in the Xcent, when it goes on to arrive next year.
A new design on the alloy wheels can be seen on the car spotted earlier , which bear diamond cut finishing like before, but this time, have a different pattern to them. On the insides, the most striking change which is slightly visible in the images shows the adjustable head restraints on the front seats. As a cost down measure, the front seats have integrated headrests in the current car and this seems to get changed in the next iteration.

The Hyundai Grand i10 and Hyundai Xcent comes with two engine options, a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol motor or a 1.1-litre three-cylinder U2 CRDi diesel. Both engines offer reasonable pep for normal city driving conditions and out of the two, it is the petrol which sees larger chunk of the sales, being a highly tried and tested unit from the earlier generation Grand i10 and in the Hyundai i20 hatchback as well.
