Innova, Corolla and Fortuner To Cost More: Toyota India Hikes Prices
Major automakers announced the raise in price due to BS -IV norms and now it was Toyota`s turn to fall in line.
Toyota India announced an increase in prices of the Innova, Corolla and Fortuner due to increase in input costs and the implementation of BS IV norms.
The range of price increase for the Innova is Rs.20,000/- to 23,000/-, Corolla – Rs. 5,000/- to Rs. 14,000/- and Fortuner Rs. 10,000/-
Though Toyota Kirloskar Motors on Thursday reported 90.01 per cent jump in sales at 6,905 units during March, against 3,634 units in the same period last year. But booming sales are not going to reduce the prices !!
“Apart from customer confidence in our products, the increase in sales for the month of March can also be attributed to the hike in prices that have come into effect from April 1, 2010, because of increase in input costs, the implementation of BS—IV and the increase in local road tax and local sales tax,” said Mr Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director (Marketing), Toyota Kirloskar Motors.

From 1st October 2010, Toyota has again increased the price of Fortuner by Rs 30000
This is the second price hike in a year. No good reason from Toyota for the second price hike.
