Ford Focus RS with BBR performance upgrades
BBR the tuners of the Cosworth RS500 motors for the BTCC in the 1980′s have now come up with an upgrade package for the new Ford Focus RS. The performance upgrades which took 18 months to develop come in four phases. BBR is also offering changes to the suspension, including new springs and dampers.
Phase one includes full ECU remap which improves throttle response and makes the turbo’s performance more linear. This upgrade boosts power to 337bhp; 37 more than the standard Focus RS. Torque is up from 325lb ft to 369lb ft. This modification will cost you £595.
Phase two packages includes a new intercooler replacing the standard with a BBR custom built intercooler. A new air filter and inlet hoses boost the power up to 350bhp and torque to 378lb ft .
Phase Three upgrades include a new turbo, sports exhaust system and fuel injectors in addition to the previous upgrades to boost power to 377bhp and torque to 388lb ft.
The final Phase Four package adds a new high-flow fuel pump and an even more advanced turbocharger to boost power to 398bhp and torque to 408lb ft. This Phase Four upgrade package costs £3895, plus a £595 fitting fee and also includes the previous three upgrade packages.
