With the festive season on in full swing, it isn’t just automobile makers that are trying to think up creative ways to keep their products moving. Another special edition of the largely successful Maruti Swift has been put on offer but this time the company had no part to play in the production of it. Rather, it is a dealership from down south that has given their own touch to the already popular car.

Kalyani Motors, a Bangalore based dealership, has put its spin on the Maruti Swift and decided to call it a Platinum Edition of the car. They have said that the particular customization pack will be offered on both the diesel and petrol variants of the car, the only constraint being that they prefer sticking to the existing white paintjob.

The changes that have been made are purely cosmetic and the performance of the car will remain unaltered. The grille and air inlets, generally made in black plastic, have been painted silver on this version. The lamp clusters in the front and rear of the car have been remodelled. The car gets daytime running lamps and what seems to be projector lights in the front. Additionally, the lenses have been blackened the brake lights now use LEDs.

The accoutrements have been piled on in this special edition and the dealer has left no stone unturned in ensuring that the car is at least looks different from the standard variant. Spoilers have been fitted on the front and rear bumpers, and there are roof-mounted ones as well. The car features side skirts and a black wrap on the roof, which counterpoints the white body of the car well. The wheels are made in alloy and are coloured grey. The decals on the body with the model’s logo top off the exterior modifications.
