Mercedes Benz India eyeing Tier III cities: More Dealerships Coming !

After a successful run in the tier I and II cities, Mercedes Benz now has its eyes set on the smaller tier III cities. The oldest player in the Indian luxury car market is set to give the small town India a taste of its luxury cars. The company, which currently has 56 dealerships in 26 cities, will be expanding into tier-III cities, including Bhubaneswar and Indore.
“The mindset in the tier-III towns is shifting and people are now beginning to invest in luxury cars,” said Dr Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
With 25 to 30 per cent of Mercedes-Benz sales coming from non-metro cities, company is confident of getting 15-20 percent of its sales to come from tier III cities in the future
“We have a bullish mindset about India and are confident that we will be able to maintain a double-digit growth rate for the next four-five years,” he said. The focus is to make sure that the duty structure is suitable so that sales can happen. The company will follow a conservative, but aggressive growth path, he added.
