Its been just weeks, rather days since Mercedes Benz launched its newest CLS not before it was caught by the prying eyes of car aficionados on numerous occasions. It is almost certain that a hotter, meaner AMG model will soon follow.

A bunch of nerds at AMG are busy fine tuning the CLS63 AMG even as we speak. A test mule was spotted near the Nurburgring recently. At its heart is a supercharged 5.5lt V8 which Mercedes put in the CL63 AMG.

The standard car has 536bhp and 590lb ft and 563bhp with an optional performance package. Opting for the performance package will also remove the speed limiter and the CLS63 will be capable of speeds exceeding 180mph.

The quicker cousin of the CLS63 will also feature stop-start and improved brake energy recuperation which allow for lower CO2 emissions.
