New Variants of Hyundai i20 and Santro Car: Coming soon !!

New Hyundai i20 Car Model India 2010

With growing small car segment market in India to give more value for money to customers Hyundai India plans to launch new versions of i20 and face lifted version of Santro soon. Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales department of Hyundai Motor India, Mr Arvind Saxena said “We will launch the i-20 diesel for the domestic market this year. But we are yet to finalize the engine size.”

Cars like VW Polo, Ford Figo, Maruti’s new Swift 1.2 and other B-segment hatches have augmented the competition in this segment and Hyundai wants to take on the competition with these new variants.

Our sources tell that i20 will get 3 new variants “Era, Sportz and Sportz with alloys ” like its cousin i10. Hyundai i20 now comes in the Magna and Asta trims versions. The Sportz variant will be positioned over the Magna and below the Asta and would have a driver airbag along with remote entry and turn indicators on the outside mirrors. The Asta (O) will continue to be the top model of the i20.

On the other hand the new Santro variant entitled GLS with Audio will be available with an audio system with USB port and 4 speakers and will cost Rs. 9,999/- more than the standard GLS version.

The new variants are expected to boost the sales even further since the new Era makes the entry price to the i20 range lower giving more options to the buyers, and Santro gets small upgrade add value to customers.
