The next generation of India’s favourite hatchback has been leaked.
The next generation Swift gets a new exterior which makes it look sharper
The leaked car is a 5-door hatchback, which is on sale in India. Although the design of the car is a different, the overall shape of the hatchback has not changed. The design is sharper than before. It gets new headlight, new front bumper with larger air intakes, a floating roof, new tail lights, a crease running between the tail lights and new alloy wheels. The rear doors get hidden door handles.
On the inside, it gets a completely redesigned dashboard with a new multifunction steering wheel. The instrument cluster gets twin pods which looks sporty and a small TFT screen between them. The centre console gets a touchscreen infotainment system with HVAC control systems below it. The new hatchback gets circular air vents which looks rather old-fashioned.
The interior is also new but the air vents look old-fashioned
Powering the new Swift hatchback will be a 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol engine. India could get a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engine. The engines will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission. A CVT automatic transmission or an AMT transmission could also be offered. The Swift Sport will get a 1.4-litre petrol engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The next generation Swift will be unveiled by the end of the year
