Peugeot 308 GTI goes on sale in the UK

Indiancarsbikes had posted a preview of the Peugeot 308 GTI about a month ago. Back then, the French did not confirm its launch in the UK. The mist has certainly cleared out as the 5-door version will go on sale in July. The 308 GT THP 200 with 197bhp on tap is priced at £21,995.

The 1.6lt petrol engine is the same that Peugeot put in the RCZ which powers the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. Peugeot claim fuel consumption figures of 41mpg. The car sits 10mm lower to the ground and cosmetic upgrades include a rear spoiler, twin chrome rear exhaust pipes, and ‘GT’ badges on the side and rear of the body. While leather seats, gear knob, pedals and footrests finished in aluminum.
