Porsche Cajun: New 2-Door Compact SUV Model in 2013

Porsche-Cajun-red

Named as “Cajun”, the next Porsche is on its way for production. This one will be a compact SUV, which is said to have two doors. Also it will have a coupe like slooping roof and compete against BMW X6 and Range Rover Evoque. It may have 2 diesel engines and will have lots of petrol engines starting from 2 ltr to 3 ltr V6. One environmental friendly electric petrol hybrid is also in the list.

The chairman, VW group, owner company of Porsche, Martin Winterkorn says this one will be ”a little brother for the Cayenne and it is coming to radiate the Porsche brand.” The Cajun will be inspired a little bit from Audi Q5 as it may share some of its technologies, especially the hybrid technology . The Cajun will be shorter than the Q5 but it will be wider. The Cajun will have a sporty interior like the Porsche Boxster.

My bottom line is that Porsche can still have their storied racing identity while branching out. More money for R&D or other areas is always a great thing. As long as the 911 is still an ass-kicking vehicle, and there is a GT-x variant I’ll be a happy camper. For more details about the ’2013 Porsche Cajun’ visit TopSpeed.com. ;-)
