Exclusive luxury car maker, Rolls Royce is planning to expand its dealer network in India. The car maker sees India as a huge market for bespoke cars like the Rolls Royce line-up. Rolls Royce expects the market to grow even further and hence expanding their reach would be the best thing to do with an aim to sell more cars. Rolls Royce currently has dealerships in New Delhi and Mumbai. Although, the car maker has not revealed which cities would get a Rolls Royce showroom, it is believed that Hyderabad, Bangalore or Chennai could be on the list.
The new dealerships are expected to come up by the end of this year. At present the company is in the process of identifying potential cities. “Currently, we are in the process of identifying the dealers. We are looking for dealers who have high local connections,” said Dan Balmer, marketing and events manager, Asia Pacific at Rolls Royce. Rolls Royce has launched the extended wheelbase version of the Ghost in India. The car is priced at a very Rolls Royce-ish Rs 3.05 Crore.

The bespoke car maker expects to sell 100 units with the new dealerships in place. In 2010, Rolls Royce sold 70 units of their luxury cars in India. “With new dealers and new product, the potential market for Rolls Royce is around 100 units this year,” said Hal Serudin, corporate communication manager, Asia Pacific for Rolls Royce. Also, the clientele who order these luxury limousines most of the times ask for bespoke customizations. Out of 10 units sold in India, 6-7 cars have some bespoke elements.
That said, the Asia-Pacific region as a whole has become a major player in the world economy. The number billionaires are on the rise as prosperity descends upon the continent. Rolls Royce would like to cash-in on this opportunity as demand for luxury limousines grows over a period of time.
