Rolls Royce Ghost to be recalled for possible engine fires!
Rolls Royce Ghost
A few days back we reported about the BMW recall in which cars from BMW’s range of SUVs and sedans will be recalled by the car maker to replace defective auxiliary water pumps. The faulty water pumps could possibly lead to a fire in extreme cases. However, no such incident has been brought to the notice of BMW officials and with regard to safety of the occupants and customers of BMW, the car maker has decided to recall a finite number of cars that were manufactured between 2008-2010.
The cars that are suffering from this issue are BMW 5-Series, 5-Series Gran Turismo, BMW X5, X6 and BMW 7-Series. The electric auxiliary water pumps in these cars are reportedly overheating melting surrounding cables which could cause a fire. Now, according to fresh reports, apparently the Rolls Royce Ghost is also among those models fitted with a similar electric auxiliary water pump. It should be noted that BMW owns the brand Rolls Royce and the Ghost is actually a BMW 7-Series underneath. Only those cars produced between September 2009 and September 2010 have been identified as those facing this issue.

Hence, the luxury limousine could be facing similar issues. BMW management has thus decided to replace the faulty electric auxiliary fuel pumps on the Rolls Royce Ghost as well. Customers will be informed if their car is among those being recalled and in case of the Rolls Royce Ghost, BMW would most probably send a chauffeur to collect the car its owners. The part will be replaced by dealerships and the customers will not be charged a even single penny for it. Having said that, it is good that BMW isn’t taking any risks and recalling the Rolls Royce seems to be a wise bet before the matter gets too complicated. You know what I mean, right?
