Sales Report : Hero Honda figures up by 33% in 2010

The country`s largest two wheeler maker Hero honda continues it dominance over the two wheeler market and the sales figure are up by 33% in the year ending December 2010. The December month proved to be the best in year accounting for record sales of 501,111 units, a raise of 33% over the corresponding month in 2009. The year 2010 proved to be the best ever calendar year for the company accounting for cumulative sales of more than 5 million units, increasing the sales by 16.4 %.

In the third quarter(October to December ) of FY`11 the company sold 1.4 million units, 29 % raise from the corresponding quarter in FY`10 in which company sold only 1.1 million units. In this period the company also saw the sales of 5 million plus units in October as well as December indicating strong third quarter. The company has also recorded sale of 400,000 plus units in last eight consecutive months despite of the news of split of Hero- Honda JV. Hero group said it would buy the 26% stake of Honda in the company.

On this occasion, Anil Dua, senoir VP (Marketing & Sales), Hero Honda Motors, said,

2010 has been an outstanding year for Hero Honda. The year 2010 not only witnessed sales of over 5 million units but the company also consistently raised the bar and created new records. A double digit growth rate despite the large base of previous year is the reflection of confidence and trust that our customers and business partners repose in us. For the coming year, we further intend to solidify our leadership by launching new products combined with customer-focused marketing programs

Hero Honda is the market leader in two wheelers and it continues to do the same with the launch refreshed models of Glamour FI, new Super Splendor and Hunk, Splendor Pro, Passion Pro commonwealth limited edition in the running fiscal year.
