Suzuki Two-Wheeler Range Gets BS-IV Update

Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), a subsidiary of Suzuki Motors, Japan has updated its entire range of products in the Indian market, to comply to the upcoming BS-IV norms.

The company had started this process by first upgrading two of its most popular models, the Suzuki Gixxer and the Suzuki Access to conform to the BS-IV norms, which are going to be made mandatory across the country, starting April 1, 2017.

The company has now launched the new Let’s, which is being offered, starting at Rs 47,272 ex- showroom, Delhi and the Hayate EP, which has been priced at Rs. 52,754 ex-showroom, Delhi.

Commenting on the accomplishment, Mr. Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, SMIPL, said, “We are pleased to announce that all our products across segments are now updated and come only with BS-IV compliant engines. The New Let’s is testimony to our endeavors in bringing to India the most eco-friendly riding solutions in line with the government regulations. We are confident that our products will retain a strong foothold in their respective segments.”

All Suzuki products have also been updated with the Automatic Headlight On or AHO function, which is also going to become mandatory across the country from the same deadline.

The Suzuki Gixxer now comes with a dual disc, as well as a front disc and drum brake combination. The same is with the Gixxer SF as well. THe siblings come powered by a 155cc single-cylinder engine, which produces 14 BHp of power at 8,000 rom and 14.6 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm. The bikes have now been offered with three new paint shades, including dual tone shades as well.

The Suzuki Access on the other hand gets updated with a total of six body shades. Prices for the Suzuki Gixxer range from Rs. 77,452 to Rs. 80,528 ex-showroom. Gixxer SF is priced between Rs. 89,659 to Rs. 93,499, both prices being ex-showroom.

The Access moto-scooter comes powered by a 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine and is a direct rival to the highly popular Honda Activa 125. The prices for the updated Suzuki Access range between Rs. 54,302 to Rs. 57,315 ex-showroom.
