Tata Safari replacement first pics: Tata Merlin

The first pictures of the Tata Safari replacement have just leaked thanks to Team-Bhp. The new Safari that will be christened ‘Merlin’, has been in development since last two years and will finally be revealed (officially) in the first quarter of 2011.

The Merlin runs on the same 2.2 litre DICOR, but now gets a dual mass flywheel which adds refinement. The engine is mated to a newly developed transmission first seen on the Aria. Other changes include a fresh look exterior with improved interiors (hopefully, better plastic quality), improved HVAC system and ride and handling characteristics.

well i have tata safari 2.2 vtt dicor
and i am a big fan of safari
and the new model ahh whatever named tata merlin
its should be named as tata safari merlin
i will buy this as soon it will be in market

tata, i am a proud owner of safari dicor 3.0, as a loyal costumer i have some suggestions
1>.. pls retain that spare tyre at tail gate….that just looks awesome and give safari a unique identity, i dont care about the fact that how it obstruct the view while reversing etc..
2>..morever remove this new suffix “merlin” thats feels too feminine, retain “safari” its cult name in india’s motorworld..
ONLY THING YOU NEED TO IMPROVE IS INTERIOR BUILD QUALITY AND ADD SOME FEATURES LIKE AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL, CRUISE CONTROL, GOOD MUSIC SYSTEM, AND BRING BACK THAT “COOL BOX” ONCE YOU HAVE ON OFFER…..YOU MAY INCREASE THE PRICE THEN BY 1 LAKH OR SO

Please think about new safari suffix “merlin” because it seems that a lion in a den & also retain spare tyre on back of vehicle because it gives a dashing look to vehicle,a suv like a lion on road.It must be think about interior,because it looks like a COMMERCIAL VEHICLE interior specially dashboard/ instrument pannel finish & must be added some more features like bluetruth,climate control,combo LCD screen for GPRS navigation etc.

wont sell anymore . just see force one with merc engine and gear box. tata will have to introduce completely new design to face the competetion from this new suv which looks even better than endeavour and fortuner or pajero.
