Tata Nano Car Up In Flames At Mumbai

Tata Nano Car on Fire

In a bizarre incident, a brand new Tata Nano spontaneously caught fire belonging to insurance agent Satish Sawant.

Satish had taken delivery of the vehicle from the Tata motors showroom in Prabhadevi, Mumbai and was on his way home with his wife and five-year-old son in their ribbon draped silver Nano.

A Tata motors’ chauffeur was driving the family home when fumes erupted from the steering column. Soon afterwards, a motorcyclist overtook the car and signalled a distress to the driver. They occupants of the car managed to get out before the whole car was engulfed in flames.

Sawant, an insurance agent, had spent Rs 2.4 lakh on the Nano (MH03 AW 913). We assume this is the top-end Nano with Air-conditioning and power windows. We reckon a recall call erupting soon.
