Tata Nano is the Indian Car of the Year 2009
In another feather added to it’s cap, the Tata Nano won the Indian Car of the Year 2009 award. This award is held in association with JK Tyres and the top auto magazines of India. The 11 member jury which chose the Nano consisted of eminent auto journalists from major auto magazines. The Tata Nano secured 63 points to emerge as the Indian Car of the year.
The Nano competed successfully against global brands with cars like the Chevrolet Cruze, Honda Jazz, Fiat Linea, Fiat Grande Punto, Maruti Suzuki Ritz, Mahindra Xylo, Skoda Superb, Tata Indigo Manza, and Toyota Fortuner. The Managing Director of Tata Motors, Mr. P.M. Telang, received the award from the Vice Chairman & Managing Director of JK Tyre Industries Ltd., Dr. R. P. Singhania, at a ceremony held in New Delhi.
