Toyota recalls not working?

In another twist to the Toyota recall saga, about 10 Toyota owners have complained to the NHTSA, that the fix for the gas pedals and the ECU remap doesn’t seem to be working. This, after their cars experienced an uncontrollable, involuntary surging, or in other words, the same old sticky gas pedal syndrome.

While there were reports of injuries or casualties, these radical new developments are casting serious aspersions on the quality and reliability of the fixes that Toyota carried out over the past month or so. Meanwhile, the NHTSA was also pulled up by the US Senatorial committee for being lax on this potentially fatal issue and this has resulted in NHTSA scurrying to summon Toyota personnel for an explanation on the latest complaints.

Toyota USA, for it’s part is denying these fresh complaints by saying that it’s electronics are not at fault and the new complaints are most likely a result of a poor repair job than faulty electronics.

Whatever may be the case, these developments clearly aren’t helping brand Toyota in any way, and if this trend continues, Toyota Motor Corp will be in serious trouble in the United States, with them having to contend with a flurry of class action lawsuits left, right and center.
