TVS Motors has added yet another automatic scooter to its line up in India. The new scooter is called the Jupiter and is powered by a 110cc four stroke engine that it borrows from the Wego. The 110cc engine outputs 8 Bhp of peak power and 8 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a CVT automatic gearbox and comes with a claimed mileage figure of 62 Kmpl. For now, TVS Motors has launched the Jupiter 110 only in North India. In the next couple of months, the scooter will also be launched in South India. The TVS Jupiter 110 has been priced at 44,200 rupees, ex-showroom Delhi.

From the pricing, we can see that TVS Motors wants to position the Jupiter above the Wego. The Jupiter is larger than the Wego and will be targeted at men, who prefer larger scooters than the Wegos and Activas. The TVS Jupiter 110 comes with many class leading features that distinguish it from the other automatic scooters sold in the country. 12 inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres and telescopic front suspension means that the Jupiter will have good ground clearance and better handling. The rear suspension is a gas charged monoshock unit. Other class leading features of the Wego are as follows,
TVS Jupiter 110cc scooter front
Best in class wheelbase of 1,275 mm
Best in class turning radius of 1,915 mm
Patented E-Z main stand
Flash-while-overtaking feature on headlamp switch
External fuel filler cap located on the rear
Economy and power modes that vary according to throttle position
TVS Motors aims to sell 30,000 automatic scooters each month. TVS sells the Scooty Pep range of scooterettes and the Wego and Jupiter range of bigger automatic scooters in India. In the coming months, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka could be the potential markets for the Jupiter 110.
