VW To Thunderbolt eGolf To India By 2013
Volkswagen will usher in its green range into India with the e-Golf. The Golf has been VW’s heritage fast small car, setting the platform for its twin, the R32. So it is just pure gallimaufry of a decision to paint the thing green, shove a few batteries up its tiny rear and turn it into a Duracell bunny.
But alas, if reports are to be believed, VW will reveal its e-Golf in India by 2013.

Volkswagen Golf TwinDrive Electric Hybrid
Currently undergoing final versions of testing, the eGolf will set the precedent of VW’s electric range with a e-Jetta set to follow. Volkswagen’s Chief Executive Officer Martin Winterkorn has announced that the company is looking to produce an electric car that can be affordable by every user from all segments. He has also said that the company is focusing on such innovative products.
This electrification of the Golf is a project spearheaded by VW with cooperation from companies like Toshiba and Sanyo of Japan as well as Chinese battery and car producer BYD. The company believes that the key of developing an electric car is the powerful and affordable lithium-ion batteries. Whatever. And you thought the BlueMotion was pointless.
