What happens when three of the world’s most recognised German badges -Volkswagen, GTI and Adidas come together? Yes Volkwagen Golf GTI Adidas happens.

Volkswagen has unveiled Golf GTI Adidas and Excessive yesterday at annual GTI meetup in Wörthersee, Austria. Every year the GTI community conducts the annual meetup at this time of the year, and VW has been surprising its fans since these meet ups started. This year Golf Adidas and Excessive are on the table.

Golf Adidas is a three door car which carries the name of three German brands. As the name suggests, the interior of this car has been customized in the style of the Adidas brand, given blackish finish with red side bolsters and the Adidas triple stripe down the middle. VW has given a pleasant makeover to its legendary Golf. Car is equipped with the DSG dual-clutch gearbox. The cosmetic changes include new 18-inch wheels, Bi-Xenon headlamps, LED taillights, deep front splitter and a pair of revised air dams on either side of the grille. Other details include sill extensions finished in gloss black, a new rear diffuser, titanium-tipped exhaust pipes and redesigned wing.

The Golf Adidas will go on sale in Europe next month and it will be limited to 4410 units only. VW says,

“The focus here is on extreme precision in the definition of shapes, radii and straight lines, as though cut with a razor blade. The add-on parts themselves are slender and light on the one hand, yet noticeably stable as well; they appear as though carved from a single block.”

Golf GTI Excessive has got really excessive, A 2.0 litre TDI is a carry over from Golf but the power has been raised to 211 bhp. Now that much power from a 2.0 litre is excessive. It comes with a wide body kit including massive front splitter and rear diffuser, and a new side skirt. The concept also gets firmer springs and dampers along with new 19-inch BBS alloy wheels. A Killer look from the vehicle is naturally expected.
