The highly anticipated more powerful variant of the VW Polo has finally been launched in India. The car has been priced at 6.16 lakh rupees ex-showroom Delhi. Apart from a bigger 1.6L engine, the car remains the same in looks on the exterior.
The interior of the car gets door handles in chrome, chrome interior trims, storage compartments for 1 litre bottles, 60/40 split folding rear seats and superior ‘livon’ upholstery.
“With the introduction of this variant, the Polo becomes even more exciting for our customers as it becomes more powerful and fun to drive while continuing to maintain all the features available in the 1.2-L Polo,” Volkswagen India director for passenger cars Neeraj Garg said.
The new Polo variant has a 1.6 litre 4 cylinder petrol engine with an output of 105PS @ 5250 rpm and a Torque of 153NM @ 3750 rpm. Paired with a 5-speed manual gear box, the car gives a fuel efficiency of 15.96 km/litre.
