The Safety Masterpiece Volvo will be launching its new SUV , the new XC60 in India on November 24th 2010. With the launch of this machine, Volvo will be looking to take over the luxury SUV segment by a storm.

Volvo has been known for inventing and improving the safety standards for automobiles. This time too, they have a lot in this package. The XC60 boasts of an Automatic Braking System for city safety. This includes an assembly of a laser and a camera, which will reduce the rate of collisions drastically.

The new XC60 comes with a massive 3.0 litre 6 cylinder engine which has a DOHC (4 valves per cylinder), producing a tremendous power of 284.9 PS @ 5600 rpm and developing a mammoth torque of 400Nm @ 1500-4800 rpm. The SUV reaches from 0 to 100km/hr in just 7.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 210 km/hr. Since the firm is known mainly for providing the best safety features, here we have Auto Braking System along with VeDi/Di-S-ABS.

Volvo with this new launch makes it clear that it has major plans for the Indian Auto hub in the near future. The firm has dealerships currently in main metros and plans to expand its network in all the other regions soon.
