Yamaha YZF R3 Recalled in India

Japanese motorcycle manufacturer’s Indian arm, India Yamaha Motor has issued a recall for its Yamaha YZF R3 motorcycle.

The company has recalled a total of 1,155 bikes in the country. Thr reason for the recall comes down to a faulty fuel tank bracket and a faulty main switch sub assembly.


Yamaha will be contacting owners of the YZF R3 through its dealerships and owners would be requested to bring in their bikes to their nearest service centres.

The company will be rectifying the motorcycles by replacing both the faulty parts and customers will not be charged anything for this job.

The same recall has also been made by Yamaha Motor Japan in a lot of other international markets as well. The Yamaha YZF R3 had also been recalled last year, when around 900 motorcycles were called back for a faulty clutch assembly and oil pump.

Yamaha has not seen some strong sales performance by the YZF R3 in the Indian market. The bike has been unable to set the charts ticking swiftky, owning to fierce competition from the stables of KTM primarily.
