ZF Hero Chassis System inaugurates new plant

Hero Motors Ltd. and ZF India Pvt. Ltd. finally inaugurate its new plan in Kachipuram district at the outskirts of Chennai. This facility will assemble front and rear chassis system for passenger cars. Spread across 7,200 sq mts, this facility is to provide the Indian consumers with local produced products as much as possible.

Talking on the occasion, Uwe Cossman, Head of Car Chassis Technology from ZF said, “We are really happy to be a part of this endeavour and value our partnership with BMW Group. We serve our customer best by handling the complete value stream – from the part manufacturer until the delivery of the complete axle system. ZF will keep delivering quality and innovative products to all its partners in India and globally.”

ZF has been operating in India across nine plants that are located in and around Pune, Pantnagar, Gurgaon, Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai. There are around 3,000 employees in ZF. Whereas the Hero Motors Ltd. is a part of the Hero Motor Group of companies. Hero Motors Ltd. has been supplying gears and transmission to BMW Motorrad Germany along with Harley Davidson as well as Hero MotoCorp. Apart from this Hero Motors has a venture called ZF Hero Chassis Systems and another one called Munjal Kiriu Industries Pvt. Ltd with Sumitomo Kiriu which creates disc and drum brakes and knuckles for passenger cars.
