2010 Geneva Show: Ford Focus Estate Version
The other day, ICB heralded news about the new Ford C-Max people carrier unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor show.
Following suit is the estate version of the Ford Focus. With design cues emanating from Ford’s Kinetic design direction, the Focus estate is quite a looker. The 2011 Focus estate is one of 10 bodystyles planned off Ford’s new global C-segment architecture. Read more
Geneva Motor Show: The Honda CR-Z Hybrid Coupe goes commercial
The Toyota Prius Hybrid for some, is a bit too staid, or a better euphemism for that would be, Toyota-ish. While a nice scorching alternate exists in Tesla Roadster, the high asking price is a major deterrent.
Honda knows this and hence, we have a nice little sports coupe that manages to look cool too, the Honda CR-Z Sports Hybrid. Read more
Bugatti 16C Galibier Concept Car: Bugatti Takes Stab At A Sedan
Volkswagen’s hypercar arm, Bugatti has made a sedan. Yes, you read that right. Don’t worry though because the makers of the fastest and the most expensive production car ever have not ruined their brand value. Towing the line laid on by the (featureless) Porsche Panamera and the (sexy) Aston Martin Rapide, Bugatti have followed suit with the 16C Galibier four-door luxury sedan concept.
The Galibier will feature bespoke styling, LED headlights, a split rear window, and an eight tailpipe exhaust system. Yep you read that right. Inside, the luxurious cabin has individual seating for four, a floating center console, and a Parmigiani Fleurier clock. Read more
2011 Subaru Impreza XV at 2010 Geneva show: Rally Bred Crossover
Evidently, the carmakers huddled up before the show and said, “Listen up everyone, this year, we are going to bore everyone out of their skulls with hybrids and crossovers, Capiche?” So what ensued was Ferrari rummaging their F1 parts bin for used KERS and Porsche doing the deed with a 9v battery.
Some stayed true to their heritage like the Lamborghini LP 570-4 while some decided their cars needed bonsai-ing (Aston Martin Cygnet). That took care of the hybrid bit and the crossovers criss-crossing us with the Tata Aria, the VW Cross Golf and Cross polo, Dacia with the Duster and the Subaru Impreza XV. Read more
2011 Volkswagen Polo GTI: Fast Supermini at Geneva Motor Show 2010
Close on the heels of the Polo India launch, VW has pulled the covers off the Polo GTI. Sitting at the VW stall at the Geneva show, the Polo GTI looks handsome and a bit like its older brother, the Golf GTI.
The supermini houses a 1.4 litre engine developing a smooth 177 bhp. With a supercharger assisting the turbocharger, the Polo GTI hits 100 kph from standstill in 6.9 seconds and tops out a nice 227 kph. Read more

Aston Martin Cygnet in Geneva Motor Show 2010: A Slice of Britain
In an effort to ward off pressure from err…pressure groups, British sportscar makers Aston Martin debuted the Cygnet city car at the Geneva show. Nestled firmly between the Vantages and the DB9s, the Cygnet sure looked like an Aston thanks to the signature grille. Read more
2010 Ferrari 599 HY KERS Concept at Detroit: Ferraris turn ‘light’ green

2011 Volvo S60 unwrapped at Geneva, an Indian version to follow in late 2010
Volvos make nice cars that are as safe as, well, your living room. But, they don’t just don’t do much really, to make you lust over one like say the Beemers and Audis of the world. It looks like the Volvo CEO finally realizes what you, me and the grandmother next door did long, long ago and and hence he’s making all the right noises at Geneva. Read more
2011 Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid Concept: Porky Porkers go Green at Geneva
The world is going green and the so far untouched super car territory is showing more than a few signs of following suit. We had Lamborghini hit the green spot, Ferrari followed suit and now Porkers want to stop flatulating noxiously, to end up looking green and, ahem, mean. Read more
2011 Audi R8 V8 Spyder to debut at Geneva Motor Show
Audi R8 has propelled Audi into the realm of the super cars. Some argue that the only proper German car to make it to the supercar list is the Porsche 911 GT3. But I’m afraid that the Porsche has the automotive charm equivalent to a bespectacled librarian.
This might float a few boats but definitely not mine. For me the Audi R8 is a hoot. The V8 was great, the V10 was fast and now, to dish out some fun, the German comes with no roof.
The Audi R8 Spyder is slated to be available with a 4.2 litre V8 motor dishing out a delicious 420 bhp. The V8 will cost approximately € 30,000 less than its larger hearted (5.2 litre V10, 525 bhp) brother already doing the rounds in the market. Read more
