Bajaj Avenger 220 Launched at a price tag of 69,000 rupees

Bajaj has finally launched new Avenger with a bigger 220cc engine. The bike now produces a peak power of 19.03 Ps and a peak torque of 17.5 Nm. The bike has been given a DC ignition system with low trigger start rpm to ensure easy button start. It also comes with a DC circuit that gives it a constant light beam at all riding speeds. Further improvements like dual density seating, battery charge level indicator on the tank, maintenance free battery etc. have been made to provide greater comfort and ease for cruising along the winding highways. Priced at Rs 69000/- ex-Delhi showroom, the 220cc Avenger DTS-i has been launched with a stepped up warranty of 18 months. Read more

Official: Avenger 200′s production stopped; Bajaj Avenger 220 on!

Bajaj Auto gave India and Indian bikers, the very first true blue cruiser in the form of the then pricey, Kawasaki Eliminator 175. Soon after, Bajaj dumped the bomb proof Kawasaki 175cc engine to instead use the Bajaj Pulsar’s 180cc mill. While this resulted in power delivery that was much more peakier than the torquey Kawasaki four stroke 175cc engine, it also resulted in the price going radically southwards due to Bajaj Auto localizing most parts.
