2011 will see lithium battery powered Tata Indica EVs on Indian roads

For a car maker that has been producing passenger cars for less than a decade, Tata Motors Limited is progressing by leaps and bounds. Tata Motors first introduced it’s home grown small car, the Indica, in 1998 and back then the Indica was launched in both petrol and diesel variants. Needless to say, the Indica took India by storm and was a huge sales success. Now, Tata Motors plans to plonk in an electric motor into the Indica and the Indica EV could scuttle across Indian roads in 2011.
