Unhelmeted Motorcyclist in an anti-helmet parade crashes and dies!

Wear that Helmet

Motorcyclists love riding and are usually quite jumpy about pulling in a social cause that gives them yet another reason to get onto their wheels. One such ride for what we at Team IndianCarsBikes see as a lousy cause, was that of protesting against the use of helmets by motorcyclists. Quite ironically, a rider called Philip A. Contos of Parish, New York suffered head injuries and lost his life after he crashed off his motorcycle.

Unhelmeted, Philip was participating in the motorcycle ride that had it’s riders opposing helmet laws. The cops at the scene said that Philip would’ve probably survived if he was wearing a helmet. While we are all for personal liberty and the freedoms that come with it, we think it is plain stupid to ride on two wheels without a lid to protect the jelly that your brain essentially is. A hard knock on the head could potentially vegetate a human being for life.

In such a situation, putting your life on a few inches of contact patches that essentially is what your tyres are is what we see as plain stupidity. This, as motorcyclists are very vulnerable, not just to obstacles on the road but also to other motorists, who may not ride as safely or sanely. So, lid up if you don’t want to end up like fresh road kill or worse, a vegetable for the rest of your life. Team ICB urges you to not ride your two wheeler without wearing a helmet in the interest of your own personal safety.
