Whoever said electric motors go hummmmmmmmm!
You must be dreading the day when electric motors invade motown and your motorcycle starts sounding like your electric shaver or well, a wee bit different, let’s say like your mixer. How about a nice wail that sounds more like a cross between a V8 and a jumbo jet at full chat?
That is how the latest electric motor from MotoCzysz, the D1-10 sounds. If the sound sounds tempting, ahem, wait till you hear this bit. The motor is good for 100 rear wheel horsepower and a continent pulling 250 Nm of peak torque.
A few of you reading this might know that an electric motor develops almost all it’s torque right from the word go. That said, this motor promises to wrench your arms from their sockets with it’s sheer acceleration. Pity the transmission that is going to be mated with this torque bomb of an electric motor. The wise men at MotoCzysz say that the D1-10, that weighs an abysmal 35 kilos and that includes the mountings and the oil pump, can out accelerate a 600cc supersport machine and still manage to clock the same top speed.
MotoCzysz, meanwhile will be gunning for TT glory at this year’s IOT TTXGP. All said, we still prefer to gas ‘er and lay ‘er down.
